The Style of Rock Climbing

Understanding in the style of rock climbing involves a method and climbing equipment as well as the degree of adventure in a climb. Adventure is the level of uncertainty of the results to be achieved.

Style should conform to the climb. Excessive climbing style for a small cliff, as well as any styles that eventually became a bad style. Hiking in nature with limited technical assistance is a good style. We must work together premises cliff, do not force him. We can use points such as natural stone, horn, tree, or on a stone wedged in the gap. Finally we come to the climb itself, without using a rope, Its purpose is to adjust the style and ability to climb. A good style is a perfect correspondence - Siting of two sides that both the ambition and ability.

No climbing the same. A good standard can be applied and also allow the completion of a personality of each route. That is the principle we had the first ascent. Principle could lead us in a matter of style and ethics. We already have minimum standards that are ready and available to be targeted. Acceptance of this principle allows us to eliminate the conflict of opinion about the general style. Another advantage is the style of the first ascent was a viable force, and provide psychological benefits to hikers, climbers following that route, at least, been tried. By appreciating the people who solve them, and show that we understand the value, and consider their ascent as a result of the work, then climb meraka not something to be defeated.

In his book How to Rock Climb: Face Climbing, John Long describes and create a more narrow classification of several styles that exist, among which are:

Onsight Free Solo
The term climb onsight means a path without ever trying and also have not seen anyone else is climbing belt. So the line is climbing without any information. While the solo means without the rope. So onsight free solo climbing rope means for the first time a climber without any information.

Free single
Climbing a path without using the rope, but never tried, although not yet memorized the correct path.

Worked Solo
Climbing without a rope with previously been tried many times until it completely memorized the entire shape of the surface off the cliff.

Onsight Flash / Vue
Climb a path without ever tried it, saw another climber that same belt, also never got any information. Climbing using rope as a pioneering path (leader) and memasangpengaman (running belay). Climbers did not fall and did not even take a breather / break along the path.

Beta Flash
Climbing without a try and see others climbing belt, but had been informed about the lines and parts of the difficulty (crux). Climbers then climb without falling and without a break along the path.

Déjà vu
A climber had climbed a path many years previously and failed to finish. After all these years, with better climbing ability, he returned with little memory of the pathway and successfully completed on the first line.

Red Point
Climb a path that has been studied very well, without falling and climbing while installing safety as a pioneering path.

Pink Point
Same with the red point only all the security has been installed in place.

Brown's Point
There are several kinds of this category, such as a climber pioneering a path, then fell and pulled the rope, then continue climbing from a safety point last he fell (hangdogging). Climbing to the top rope is also included in this category. Then there was climbing with the first drill fitted first. Actually there are many more that fall into this category. It tells the whole category of tactics, strategy, or tricks to learn at the same time trying to complete a course.

Having seen so many styles of rock climbing in the finish line, we may be able to compare which one is more difficult. With so may also be compared to differences in the ability of a climber.
